Music Festival Season Essentials & Must-Haves

April 7, 2019

Spring has finally arrived. After what seemed like an eternity with rain and low temperatures, the sunny warm days and light blue skies are making an appearance.

The beginning of a new season usually means a change in our lifestyle. We wear different clothes, have special day & night routines, eat specific food and have new options of entertainment- ranging from new TV shows, to new music releases and the awaited Festival Season.

If you're not familiar with Festival Season, it's a huge music/entertainment event that takes place during Spring & Summer in the USA and other European countries. There are a great variety of musical events, like  the astronomically popular Coachella or Lollapalooza and more indie ones like Boston Calling  and Mo Pop

It doesn't matter what type of event you're planning to attend this season, there are some things you should always keep in mind to make the most of your time there. But don't worry, because in today's post I'll be sharing all the must-haves and must-know tips to have a great time

♥ How to look like a festival goddess? ♥

You're going to be spending long hours outside, where it can get hot, dirty, and nasty. You're going to be doing some walking and a lot of dancing. I know you don't want to look gross in your Instagram photos. Here are some essentials you'll need to keep yourself fresh and pretty.

  • Sunscreen

This will become your best friend. You need to protect your skin from the sun and avoid getting a terrible burn on day 1 and ruin the rest of the festival.

My Recommendations:

1. Sun Prep Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF25

2. Suntegrity's SPF 30 Natural Mineral Sunscreen

3.Three Sixty Five Broad-Spectrum Facial Sunscreen SPF 28

The wind, the sun, and high temperatures might make you sweat a lot, especially if you're dancing and having a blast. And none of us want to have messy hair or bad body odor.  Here are some must-haves to keep this from happening.

  • Hairstyling

I strongly suggest you go for an easy, low maintenance hairstyle. Something that won't get undone by all the moving around or get gross and sticky with sweat, and that you can easily freshen up with a brush and ties

  • Face Mist

It's likely that you'll start to get hot and sweaty. When your face starts to feel oily, there's nothing better than spraying a soothing and refreshing mist to give your skin a boost of hydration and glow.

My Recommendations:

1. Herbivore After Sun Soothing Aloe Mist

2. Coconut + Mint Cooling Mineral Mist

Having the correct makeup products while getting ready is essential if you want to avoid a runny or cakey look. Opt for light products in your face to avoid clogging your pores and apply waterproof products in your eyes and brows to avoid smearing things off when blotting your sweat.

1. Rose Quartz Crystal Grid Eyeshadow Palette

2. Water Resistant Liquid Eyeliner

3. Avocado Waterproof Mascara

4. Celestial Sphere Eye Soot Shimmer

5. Gemstone Crystal Grid Eyeshadow Palette

1. Patent Shine 10x Nail Lacquer

2. Eco-Natural Nail Polish

3. Natural Nail Polish Remover

4. Beetroot Lip & Cheek Tint

5. Mineral Powder Highlighter

6. Lips, Cheeks + Eyes Multi-Stick

7. Liquid Radiance Highlighter

1. Mattifying Primer

2. Mattifying Setting Spray

3. Natural Finish Foundation

4. Perfect Setting Powder

5. Makeup Remover Wipes

6. Organic Makeup Remover

Music Festivals are not just about the music and performances. Having the perfect outfit is such a monumental accomplishment.

♥ Take photos- but don't get so caught up in documenting everything that you forget to enjoy the moment.

♥ Stay hydrated-Carry a water bottle with you at all times!

♥ Be safe- Don't get separated from your group and establish a designated meet up place and time to avoid chaos.

Leave valuables at home- Don't bring expensive jewelry, clothing and tech gadgets. They might get lost, stolen or ruined.

Be practical- Wear comfortable shoes and clothing. It's likely you'll be walking and standing up for long hours.

Avoid troubles with security- If you need to bring your own medication keep it in the original bottle and with the prescription to avoid being searched by security who might think you're smuggling drugs.

Say no to drugs- Avoid buying and consuming drugs. You don't need to be high to have a good time. You're only harming yourself, wasting money and risk getting into trouble with the law.

Plan ahead- Print out a list of all the performances you want to see and bring a festival map so you know where to go.

Have fun- Try to expand your horizons and discover new artists. Be experimental and let yourself enjoy music you probably wouldn't. Festivals are a once in a lifetime experience, so make the most of it.
