I'm really happy with the new design of the blog. I think a little upgrade was needed to help me get out of the creative rut I was in. What do you guys think of the new design and content? Do you like it? Let me know in the comments. I always appreciate your feedback.
For this week's favourites I wanted to get into the spirit of Summer. For many people the holiday season is about to start. As a blogger who works from home there really isn't much time for holiday, especially now that I've been very busy preparing to launch some exciting projects very soon. But enough talking, let's dive into this week's eclectic mix of fun, entertaining and inspiring picks.
June has been one of Ariana Grande’s busiest months. As she prepares to release her upcoming album Sweetener, the singer has debuted two songs: the first single No Tears Left to Cry and the buzz track The Light is Coming. She also features on two new tracks, Nicki Minaj’s Bed and Troye Sivan’s Dance to This.
Golden Hour (Album) by Kacey Musgraves
Summer times are not complete without a little country music in my playlist. I’ve been obsessed with Kacey Musgraves’ new album: Golden Hour. My favourite tracks: Happy & Sad, Slow Burn, Butterflies, Oh, What a World and Golden Hour.
This cute Adidas pink sneakers and the Boyfriend Denim Shorts are from Nordstrom. The grey and pink V-Neck T-Shirts are from Amazon. Pair it with this Pop & Suki Camera Bag and this Opal Gemstones Earrings.
Summer is one of the best moments to catch up on your reading list. Many of us have the goal every year to read more. But with the busy schedules and commitments there doesn't seem to be enough days in the week to just sit down and relax while reading a good book.
The Kindle Paperwhite will become your favourite new gadget this summer. With a 6" high resolution display and no screen glare, you'll be spending your summer afternoons cozying up to a good book.
Summer is the best time to try out a new hobby. And photography sounds about right. Capture all your favourite memories with the Nikon D3400 DSLR Camera.
Dairy Free Ice Cream and Oat Milk
I've been looking for a dairy free ice cream for quite some time. And the So Delicious Chocolate Coconut Milk "Ice Cream" is perfection. I love the creaminess and sweetness of coconut milk more than almond milk, which I stopped drinking about two months ago. I read on a blog about almonds being high in Omega-6 fatty acids which are pro-inflammatory. These aren't so great for someone like me who suffers from Hashimoto's. If omega-6 fatty acids are not balanced with omega-3 fats this could intensify the symptoms of autoimmune disease by increasing the formation of free-radicals and decreasing the levels of anti-oxidant enzymes, thus lowering the immune function.
Which leads me to my other new food favourite: Oat Milk.
It's so easy to make and tastes delicious. All you need are old-fashioned rolled oats, water and vanilla extract. Blend all ingredients on high-speed until it becomes smooth. Strain it and refrigerate. This milk tastes better when it's fresh. Just make what you need for the day.
I made my first glass yesterday and had it with some cinnamon cereal and it was so tasty. I've been neglecting myself from having cereals and hot cocoa because I hadn't found an alternative to almond milk but now that I've tried this new milk I'm really excited.
Anne with an "E"
I don’t know what it is about me, but I’m always late to start watching all the good shows. I’ve seen Anne with an E promoted on Netflix but never clicked on it, until last week. All I could think of is what I’ve been missing. I’m not that in with the episodes so I still have a lot of binge watching to do in order to get ready for season 2 which premiers on July 6, 2018.
I’m still watching Queer Eye, btw. I’m on season 2 episode 2 and my goodness the tears, the emotions, the sexiness, the FAB 5!!!! If you’re not watching this show you need to get your life together and start watching. Trust me when I say your life will be changed forever.
